This role is a full-time remote position offering the flexibility to work from anywhere.
Role Overview
We are actively seeking a Games Development Director to join our growing Games Publishing organization. In this role, you will be a key leader in a strike team that orchestrates web 3 game projects between development partners and internal departments. As Development Director, you will leverage your towering expertise in project management, team/organizational design and effectiveness, and cross-group communications strategies to provide project agility, foresee and mitigate risks and opportunities.
Web 3 games are a nascent and exciting sector so the ideal candidate understands free-to-play game development and live operations so that our teams can drive experimentation in pursuit of new insights and best practices to deliver on players’ unmet needs relative to traditional, “web 2.0” games, as facilitated by blockchain tech and design principles.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Be responsible for process, schedule and quality aspects of the game development applications, including establishing the development framework, reporting, risk management, capacity planning, resource management and budget
Work with leadership to define the strategy to execute against milestones and key deliverables
Ensure the team has the best organizational structure, processes and practices that allow them to produce high quality work efficiently on time and on budget
Drive efficiencies and new ways of thinking with a goal of reducing waste and increasing predictability
Develop, maintain and publish project KPI’s that track project quality, delivery and predictability
Establish regular communication with team and key stakeholders to provide project status updates
Prioritize and direct development strategies and models to support near and long-range plans and innovation
Effectively monitor and adjusts capacity plans
What You’ll Bring
Minimum of 5 years leadership experience as a development/production manager
Strong communicator, mediation and conflict resolution skills
Ability to think outside the box in a challenging and ambiguous environment
Experience leading enterprise projects with Agile project management principles and practices
Excellent written and verbal communication and possess strong emotional intelligence skills
In-depth knowledge of software development operations acquired from a minimum of 10 years relevant experience
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent domains
A deep passion for games
