This role is a full-time remote position offering the flexibility to work from anywhere.
Role Overview
We are actively seeking a VP of Games to join our leadership team. In this role, you will establish the strategy, plan and operations for a portfolio of game titles in one or more genres working closely with internal teams (finance, engineering, business and corporate development, marketing, etc.) and external development partners to oversee the lifecycle of multiple game projects from conception to go-to-market/launch and scaling live operations. Also, as a company leader, you will be actively involved in external networking and building bridges within both the video games and blockchain community.
This role will report to the COO.
Web 3 games are a nascent and exciting sector so the ideal candidate understands free-to-play game development and live operations so that our teams can drive experimentation in pursuit of new insights and best practices to deliver on players’ unmet needs relative to traditional, “web 2.0” games, as facilitated by blockchain tech and design principles.
Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
Setting strategy, developing product and business plans, and managing both internal and external teams to shape the development and operations of a portfolio of games in one or more genres.
Build and manage “strike teams” of multi disciplinary experts to aid game projects and external teams in various stages of the lifecycle of a web 2.0 and/or a web 3.0 game.
Evaluate fitment of external development partners for new publishing opportunities
Partner with the corporate development team to shape strategy and aid in the due diligence on on potential opportunities
Working with the marketing and finance teams to set go-to-market, launch and scaling plans for your titles
Aid in the identification of new technologies can be used to improve the performance of your portfolio
Create and oversee high-level KPIs for your business and present reports on status, goals and or progress
Lead recruiting, onboarding and training of producers, development managers, designers, and game PMs
Manage your department’s budget
What You’ll Bring
A minimum of 10 years of free to play or mobile video game experience as an Executive Producer, Game Director, or Studio General Manager.
Experience with the full video game production process from conception to release.
Experience with quantitative and qualitative data-driven, iterative game development, go to market, and live operations best practices
Experience with a game that was able to scale and grow over time in live operations through feature dev, content and merchandising, and UA/growth marketing is ideal
Experience working directly with game developers to define/shape game vision and its go to market plan.
